President – Flavel Blyden
Flavel Blyden hails from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and currently resides in Virginia Beach, VA. A member of WIU since 2006, he is a military veteran, a USATF certified official and youth track & field coach, and leader of the Traditional Caribbean Indians mas troupe. Flavel believes in sharing the unique “Caribbean Experience” with everyone.

Secretary – Adeola Oshunkentan
Adeola Oshunkentan was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She is an alumni of Norfolk State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters of Arts degree in Urban Education. An educator with Norfolk Public School, Ms. Oshunkentan has served as secretary of West Indies United from November 2013 to the present year.

Immediate Past President – Ottwell ” Rich” Richardson
Mr. Rich Richardson served as the president of WIU for over 4 terms. Born on the island of St. Christopher (St. Kitts) in the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, he migrated to St. Thomas at age 12. He served in the US Navy for over 22 years and retiring honorably as a Chief Petty Office. He later obtained his degree in computer networking engineering.
During his tenure as WIU President, Rich maintained several programs and initiatives that benefited the WIU brand. Some include: a middle and elementary school volunteer program, partnership with other organizations including Virginia Reggae and Carib Fest, 1Hope4Haiti, Give Thanks For Life, and Grenadians in Virginia.
As a lifetime and Board member of WIU, Rich continues to support the new generation and their positive efforts to move the organization forward.
